Arbitration, including domestic and international arbitration is one of AQUILAW’s major practice areas. Our Arbitration practice provides comprehensive services across all stages of the arbitration process, tailored to meet the unique needs of our clients in the Indian legal context.

We specialize in all stages of the arbitration process, in both domestic and international arbitration proceedings, from pre-arbitration advisory, including advising on negotiation strategy, developing dispute resolution plans, drafting pleadings, conducting arbitration hearings and handling post-arbitration enforcement and challenge to award as well as court proceedings relating to appointment of arbitrators and challenging the appointment of arbitrators, seeking and securing interim relief. Our team ensures that each case is handled with expertise and precision. We have represented clients in institutional arbitrations conducted under the arbitration rules of reputable domestic institution such as the Indian Council of Arbitration.

  • Drafting and filing pleadings such as Statement of Claim, Statement of Defence along with Counter Claim, Rejoinder, Sur-Rejoinder before Arbitral Tribunal;

  • Drafting and filing applications including but not limited to under Sections 16, 17, 33 etc. of the Arbitration & Conciliation Act, 1996 i.e. challenging jurisdiction of Arbitrator, interim measures, correction of arbitral award, before Arbitral Tribunal;

  • Drafting and filing applications including but not limited to under Sections 8, 9, 11, 29A, 34, 36, 37 etc. of the Arbitration & Conciliation Act, 1996, i.e., refer parties to arbitration, interim measures, appointment of arbitrator, extension of mandate, setting aside of arbitral award, enforcement/execution of arbitral award, before Courts;

  • Representing clients in ad-hoc or institutional arbitral proceedings before Sole Arbitrator and/or Tribunal comprising of Three Arbitrators and assisting counsels;

  • Representing clients before Supreme Court of India and High Courts, Commercial Courts, Arbitral Tribunals in proceedings relating to the Arbitration & Conciliation Act, 1996.

  • Representing clients in international arbitrations and drafting and filing pleadings;

  • Rendering legal advisory and strategies.
